Gregory G. Mackley, 72 of Westville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 27, 2025. He was born September 12, 1953, in Gary, IN to the late Robert and Bonnie (Caldwell) Mackley. Greg graduated from Lew Wallace High School, and proudly served in the United States Navy. He received his bachelor's degree in engineering from Purdue University Calumet. Greg made his career as an Environmental Manager with US Steel for over 40 years. Following retirement, he worked as a Contractor for US Steel. Greg enjoyed golfing, reading comic books, and watching sports. Greg’s greatest passion in life though, was his family. He loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters. Greg was a loving, generous, and caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered every day.
On July 30, 1977, in Gary, IN, Greg married Connie Guerra, who survives, along with their sons: Robert Mackley of Westville, and Sean (Cassandra) Mackley of Valparaiso; granddaughters: Stella and Audrey Mackley; siblings: Robbon (Neil) Hiemstra, Kelly (Jim) Sutherland, and Daniel (Peggy) Barger; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I have nothing but the foundest memories of Greg and his wonderful family that he and Connie raised.
