James Lee “Jimmy” Milligan, 28 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2024. He was born December 17, 1995, in Munster, IN to James Frank Milligan and Carolyn (Norman) Milligan. Jimmy was baptized at Smyrna Church of God in Christ in Gary, IN. Jimmy graduated from Washington Township High School in 2014, where he was a talented athlete, participating in baseball, basketball, track, and soccer. He went on to a career in basement waterproofing, a trade which he mastered and enjoyed. When he wasn’t working, Jimmy was an avid fisherman and loved cheering for Notre Dame football. Jimmy was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle, who will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed every day.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, James F. and Carolyn Milligan of Valparaiso, IN; twin sister, Sylvia (Jacob) Glass of Crown Point; sisters: Patricia (Derrick) Bratcher of North Carolina, and Naomi (Brice) Kinyon of South Bend; nieces and nephews: Jodeci, Jameer, Isaac, Violet, and Connor; grandparents: Leland and Paula Norman, and Lillian Milligan; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Valentine Milligan; and aunts: Leslie Kegley, and Valerie Norman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 p.m.
