James R. Coberly, 81, of Kouts, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, at LifeCare Center of the Willows, Valparaiso. He was born August 5, 1944, in Valparaiso to James W. & Louetta (Richardson) Coberly. James made his career for nearly 40 years with Complete Vending as a delivery driver who was affectionately known as the “Candy Man”.
On May 8, 1965, he married Sandra “Sue” Ling who survives along with their children: Connie Buhmann of Valparaiso, Karen Hodge of Kouts & Gene Coberly of Kouts, 7 grandchildren: Charles, Pat, Jayah, Joe, Billy, Vincent & Kimberly, and 5 great-grandchildren: Emmett, Damien, Bryson, Conner & Ari’Ella. He was preceded in death by one son, Rodger Coberly in 1996 siblings: Ruth, Millie, Doris, George & Jerry, and his parents.
A private burial ceremony will be held at Graceland Cemetery Kouts.
