James R. Kish, 76, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born June 27, 1947 in South Bend to Joseph & Clara (Gustafson) Kish, graduated from John Adams High School, received a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University, served proudly with the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam era before completing MBA studies at I.U.  Jim made his career as an expert in finance and marketing, spending 20 years with Bank One in Ohio and concluding his career as Director of K.V. Works. Jim loved fishing and being the best “Papa” to his grandkids.
On February 3, 1968, he married Sharon Decker who survives along with their daughters; Jennifer Duncan of Macomb, MI, Kathleen (Joseph) Posavac of Valparaiso & Kara Kish of Loveland, CO, siblings; Joseph Kish, Barbara (Michael) Blume & John (Joan) Kish, and grandchildren, Joely & Bryn Duncan and Vivienne & Evette Posavac. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27th from 3 – 7 pm CST at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with prayer service at 3:30 pm.  The funeral mass will begin at 10:00 am CST Thursday directly at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 509 W. Division Rd., Valparaiso with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 W. Cleveland Rd., Granger, IN with a 3:00 pm EST committal ceremony. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of NWI or I.U. Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, P.O.Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207.

Sharon and family, Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His sense of humor and spirit uplifted everyone who knew him. Stories and memories that go back 60 years to when the gang were teenagers! I send my best wishes to Jim's family, I am sorry to hear of his passing. I was in the Army with him in basic training. We reunited a few years ago but with our busy lives we never really got together. He was a great guy and was real proud of his family. -Chuck Kukelka

Sharon and family, I am surprised and sorrowed by Jim's passing. I spent much time with Jim in our professional capacity and he was very proud of his family.
