Janet C. Burden, 81 of Valparaiso, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. She was born on March 1, 1942 in Gary, IN, to John and Ethel (Koedyker) Alex. She worked for many years at the Valparaiso Public Library in the genealogy department and attended Liberty Bible Church. She was a Godly woman and devoted to her family and those around her. She will be dearly missed.
Janet is survived by her husband of 62 years, LeRoy D. Burden; daughters: Jill Platt of Camarillo, CA, and Leann (Justin) Klemz of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren: Lauren (Daniel) Gyure of Indianapolis, IN, Matthew Blaschke of Valparaiso, IN, and Joseph (Farrah) Blaschke of Chesterton, IN; great-grandchildren: Ryan Blaschke, Alyssa Blaschke, and Mackenzie Gyure; and sister, Sandra (Mark) Yavor of Cumberland, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel.
There will be no services at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Larry Clark Genealogy Center at Valparaiso Public Library or Dunes Hospice.
