Jason Scott Platipodis, 40, of Valparaiso passed away at home on Monday, January 3, 2022. He was born November 25, 1981 to Bill Platipodis & Jan Westergren as the middle triplet between Jessica & Jeffrey. He graduated from Valparaiso High School in 2001, and received an Associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in 2021. Jason then made his career as a Journeyman Carpenter, becoming a skilled and sought-after tradesman.

Jason was first and foremost a loving and caring father to Piper Grace and cherished time bonding with all of his very close-knit family. His carpentry skills were also his hobby, helping every friend with private projects. Fishing trips became legendary, shoes were a passion, and his Chicago Bears hat collection was iconic. He became known as “Chubs” as an infant triplet to identify his round face, and this moniker stuck with him adoringly into adulthood.

He was preceded in death by his big brother, Robert Platipodis in 2016, and his father, Bill Platipodis in 2021. Survivors include his daughter, Piper Grace Platipodis, his mother, Jan Westergren, sister-in-law, Carla Platipodis, siblings, Jill Platipodis, Christopher (Heather) Platipodis, Jessica (Josh) Ruge all of Valparaiso, Jeffrey (Katie) Platipodis of Indianapolis, nieces & nephews, Ava, Mya, Sam, Alec, Nathan, Mikayla, Noah, Kate, Dylan & Jacob, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
