Jean A. Huber, 83 of Westville, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born June 28, 1941 in Valparaiso, the daughter of the late Otto and Gladys (Fleming) Miller. A graduate of Chesterton High School, Jean earned an associate degree from Purdue University and worked for as a substitute teacher. She was a member of Liberty Bible Church and volunteered at the Westville Methodist Church Resale Shop. An avid reader, Jean also enjoyed puzzles, books, games, BINGO nights, crocheting, caring for her cats, and most of all spending time with family.
On November 17, 1956 in Valparaiso, Jean married Robert D. Huber who preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her children, Robert (Mary) Huber, Sr., Audrey Huber, Kimberly (Kevin) Baker, Donalea (Jim) Wireman, and Kristina (Glenn) Handzlik; son-in-law, Larry Alumbaugh; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Laurie) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Veronica Alumbaugh.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Independent Cat Society 4061 S. County Line Rd., Westville 46391.
