Jean B. Connors, 92, of Valparaiso passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born June 27, 1932, in Valparaiso to Benjamin & Maude (Pierce) Bessler and graduated from Morgan Township High School in 1950. Jean began her career with GTE as a Switchboard Operator before concluding her working years in the offices of Indiana General. She was a longtime member of Valparaiso First United Methodist Church, PUPS, and Widow to Widow groups following the death of her husband. Traveling became an exciting part of her life in retirement, and she enjoyed showcasing her baking skills, especially the pies she baked for her son-in-law.
On June 16, 1956, she married William Connors who preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include their daughter, Diane (John) Webber of Valparaiso, granddaughter and “apple of her eye” Chloe (Ben) Kiser, step-grandson, Joshua Webber, and great-grandson, Holden Kiser who brought her great joy. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maurine St. Clair and brother, Max Bessler.
A visitation will be held Monday from 10 am – 12 noon at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon and burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
