Jeannette F. Knowlton, 76 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023. She was born June 8, 1947, in Burbank, CA to the late Ruben and Phyllis (Anastasio) Larson. Jeannette began her career as a nurse while living in California, and upon moving to Valparaiso, became a Photo Specialist at Walgreens, where she worked for over 30 years before her retirement in 2010. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she volunteered to help the needy through the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Jeannette was very involved in volunteer work at the Humane Society of Hobart and Humane Indiana Wildlife. She also enjoyed bird watching, feeding the hummingbirds, photography, and spending time with children and family. Jeannette will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In 1979, Jeannette married Ralph Knowlton, who preceded her in death in 2010. She is survived by her companion, Joseph Bober; sister, Marjory Lucas; nephews: Russel (Karen) Andrews and Jimmy Inglis; niece, Jean Knowlton; great nieces and nephews, Scott, Dylan, Marisa, and Bella; and great great nephew, Jax. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, George Lucas.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 509 W. Division Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385.
