Jeffrey Allan Hayworth, 61, of Michigan City passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Brickyard in Valparaiso. He was born April 5, 1964, in Hammond, IN to Joseph W. & Anna Belle (Rhymer) Hayworth and attended Calumet High School. Jeff made his career as an RV delivery driver and diesel mechanic with many mechanical specialty certifications which included welding. His skills as a remodeler kept him busy with family, friends and anyone needing an upgrade that became aware of his talents. He made trips throughout the U.S. including 13 to Alaska delivering RV trailers and FEMA trailers from which he garnered many more stories to tell as part of his repertoire. Serving as the Mechanical Supervisor and safety certifier for a carnival also contributed to his collection of true tales. He enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan, camping, photography, assembling models, anything mechanical and the aforementioned storytelling. Cheering on the Chiago Bears and Cubs and watching auto races were also favorite pastimes. His kind, generous and respectful manner defined him throughout his life.
Survivors include his sister, Jo Ann Hayworth of Michigan City, brother, Joe (Lois) Hayworth of Champaign, IL, nephew, Matthew (Heather) Hayworth, great-nephew & niece Henry & Rosie, his beloved dachshund “Bruno”, and dear friends, Robert Johnson & Jenny Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.
