Jeffrey Lee McCoin, 68 of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 31, 2022. He was born on November 17, 1954 in Watseka, IL to the late Omer Lee and Rose (Maxwell) McCoin. Jeff graduated from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale with a Master’s in Business Administration. He was an Insurance Agent and started his own firm, McCoin Insurance Agency, where he proudly served his community for over 21 years. He had a natural talent for connecting with people, often seen giving things away, and had old school values. Jeff was fond of fishing, golfing, and most importantly, spending time with and spoiling his granddaughter. He was a caring husband, a devoted father, and a committed friend. Best described as a giver, Jeff rarely asked for anything for himself. He will be remembered for his generosity and kind heart. He will be dearly missed.
On June 27, 1980, Jeffrey married Carol Hoffman, who survives, along with their children, Jaime (Matthew Fulgo) McCoin and Christine (Brandon) Waters; brother, Steve (Joanne) McCoin; granddaughter, Samantha Rose Waters; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lori.
There will be no services at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Jeffrey’s name.
