Jill Marie Bibler, 63 of Kouts, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born December 1, 1958 in Gary, to Frank and Eleanor (Sappan) Polaski. Jill made her career as an Elementary Teacher for 40 years, and taught technical writing and computer skills to the Carpenter’s Union. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was a member of the East Porter County School Board for 18 years, and had a great enthusiasm for education. Jill enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, and traveling with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who was the rock of her family. During times when they were serving overseas, Jill kept the family together. Jill was admired for her quiet strength through adversity. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed every day.

On August 11, 1979 in Merrillville, Jill married the love of her life, Scott Bibler, who survives, along with their children: Megan Bibler of Kouts, Nathan (Deanna) Bibler of West Lafayette, Aaron Bibler of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Mia and Brenan Bibler; parents: Frank and Eleanor Polaski of Valparaiso; and siblings: Cathy (Bob) Kepshire and Frank (Joanne) Polaski.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria of Kouts High School, 302 E. College Ave., Kouts. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 402 E. Indiana Ave., Kouts, with Father Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Lunch will follow the mass at 12:00 p.m. at the Kouts American Legion, 959 W. Indiana St., Kouts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support the Gynecologic Oncology Research & Patient Care Fund at Rush University Medical Center.
