Joretta Lee Zorich, 90 of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1933 in Centenary, IN, to Eugene and Cecelia (Fernato) Boscardin and graduated from Bowen High School in Chicago, IL. She made her career as a Secretary for Merrillville Community Schools 29 years before retiring. Joretta was an avid reader who enjoyed painting, vacationing with friends, and spending time with her dogs.
In Hegewisch, IL, Joretta married John Anthony Zorich, who proceeded her in death in 1969. Survivors include children: Mark (Tracy) Zorich and Linda Zorich; grandchildren: Dr. Kaitlin Zorich, Kristin Zorich, and Kyle Zorich; and beloved dog, Otis. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Eugene Zorich; in-laws: John and Matilda Zorich; and sister-in-law, Marianne Nickels.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN from 9:00 – 10:30 AM with a service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
