Joseph Adrian Gaines, 56, of Valparaiso passed away Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born January 24, 1968, in Valparaiso to Phillip & Linda (Derflinger) Gaines and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1986. Joe made his career as a Carpenter for over 20 years with Local #1485. As an avid motocross racer Joe competed passionately throughout the Midwest earning respect from some and disdain from others, depending on their perspective. He took it all in stride as part of what it took to compete for wins, even when an accident caused the loss of his lower leg. Race on Joe! We’re all behind you now.
On November 7, 1992, he married Theresa Doyle who survives along with their daughter, Riley Gaines and grandson Jaiden Gaines. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Gaines and mother, Linda Whitehead.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family celebration of Joe’s life will be held.
