Joseph Alan Hutton, 65, of Wanatah passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born July 6, 1960, to Roger & Janet (Hundt) Hutton and graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1978. Joe made his career for many years as a lineman with KV REMC. He enjoyed tinkering with and detailing his collection of classic cars and tractors, especially his 1931 Ford Model “A”. Joe loved his community, supported its veterans, and helped to keep its history alive with the retelling of scores of stories from days gone by.

Survivors include his cousins: Jean (Douglas) Reeves of Morgan Township, Mary (Thomas) Wherrett of Wanatah, Robert (Debbie) Hundt of Michigan City, Dawn Martin of Arizona & Russell Hutton of Colorado, his second cousins who referred to him as “uncle Joe”, and his beloved feline, “Peanut”. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Hutton.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 19th from 4 – 6 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel with funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm. Private burial will take place on Friday at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial donations may be made to the Wanatah American Legion Post #403.
