Joseph “Joe” M. Rogowski, 68 of Valparaiso, passed away on August 31, 2023. He was born on December 24, 1954 in Valparaiso, IN, to Eugene and Marilyn (Martin) Rogowski. He graduated from Wheeler High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Operation Deep Freeze while stationed in Antarctica. He made his career in machine repair for GE then Image First before retirement. Joseph enjoyed tumbling rocks and spending time with his family.
On January 29, 1977 in East Chicago, Joe married Hazel Hampton, who survives, along with their children, Sam (Daena) Rogowski and Emily Rogowski; siblings: Susan (Donald) Garrett, Tom (Gaye) Rogowski, and Julie (Greg) Powell; grandchildren: Caleb Rogowski, Ezekiel Baker, and Joe Rogowski; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Marilyn.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Kouts, IN.
