Joseph Pancek, 91 of Kouts, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026.  He was born on April 29, 1934 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Leo and Antoinette (Rejnond) Pancek.  A graduate of Wheeler High School, Joseph served in the US Army and made his career for 46 years at US Steel in the coke plant.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, casino trips, and a good meal with family and friends. But it was always passion for his family and the grandkids that lit up his life.

On July 29, 1961 Joseph married Judith Kay Redmon who preceded him in death on May 3, 2021.  He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Pancek and Patrick (Audra) Pancek; grandchildren, Alex (Bri) Pancek, Jake (Kaylee) Pancek, Logan Pancek, and Taylor (Tyler) Orr; great grandchildren, Mason, M.J., Ben, and Ellie; sister-in-law, Judy Redmon; and grandpuppies, “Hattie Rose” & “Charlotte Daisy”.  Joseph was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Pancek; sister, Mary Baroevich; and niece, Mary Kay Baroevich.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
