Justin William Conover, 47, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 30, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1979, in Valparaiso to Charles and Karen Conover and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1997.

Justin's life was marked by compassion, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the promise of recovery. Through his work at a halfway house in Lafayette and at Respite House in Valparaiso, he became a trusted sponsor and source of encouragement to many, offering hope, guidance, and understanding to those finding their way forward.

Even after an automobile accident left him with severe physical limitations, Justin never stopped cheering others on. He celebrated every recovery milestone and found joy in seeing others succeed.

Above all, Justin loved his family. He never missed a birthday and took pride in recognizing every accomplishment, big or small. His daughters were his greatest joy, and he treasured every opportunity to share in their lives.

Justin embraced life with passion. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan who remained hopeful through every triumph and disappointment, always believing the next season would be the one. He was also deeply interested in politics and enjoyed spirited discussions, never shying away from expressing his views. Those who knew him will fondly remember his enthusiasm, his strong convictions, and the lively conversations he inspired.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Conover of Valparaiso; his brother, Jordan Conover (William Melnyczenko) of Gulfport, Florida; his daughters, Lacey Addison Conover and Brooklyn Alise Kruse of Lafayette; his grandmother, Evelyn Wallace of Valparaiso; his aunts, Linda Glusac and Roberta Lee Conover; his uncles, Steve, William, Paul, and David Conover (Sarah); his loving nurse, Alice Abraham; and many cherished cousins, friends, and members of the recovery community whose lives were forever touched by him.

Though his time here was far too short, Justin leaves behind a legacy of hope, compassion, and service to others. He will be remembered not only for the obstacles he overcame, but for the countless people he encouraged, uplifted, and loved along the way.

A private family interment ceremony will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Justin W. Conover Memorial Fund through 1st Source Bank at any branch location or reach out to family members.
