Kathleen Nancy Reichert, 78 of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born July 11, 1945, in Harvey, Illinois to James and Maxine (Crafton) Williams. Kathy attended Thornton Township High School in Harvey, and later worked in the cafeteria and as a bus driver for the Oak Forest School System. She was a devoted homemaker to her family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially to support them in their extracurricular activities. Kathy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who always put her family first. She will be deeply missed.
On April 24, 1965, at Ascension Church in Harvey, Illinois, Kathy married the love of her life, Ronald Reichert, who survives, along with their children: Ronald (Kimberly) Reichert, Jr. of Monee, IL, Richard (Kristen) Reichert of Valparaiso, IN, and Rochelle Miller of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren: Joshua (Dawn) Griffin, Justin (Amy) Griffin, James Griffin, Heather Withers, Megan Withers, John Withers, Alexis Rockway, Grace Reichert, Jackson Reichert, Jessica (Kyle) Galloway, Adam (Elizabeth “Biz” Hartman) Miller, and Aaron (Kristen Cardascia) Miller; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Susan (Rick) Hutchings and William (Karen) Williams; and many loving brothers and sisters in law, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Renee (John Withers) Reichert; son-in-law, Danny Huang; and grandsons, Jacob Griffin and Jeremy Cox.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be announced at a later date.
