Kenneth Duane McMahan, 75, of LaCrosse, IN passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Jesse Brown V.A. Hospital in Chiago, Il. He was born October 29, 1949, to Jim & Betty (Bailey) McMahan, graduated from LaCrosse High School and served proudly with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Ken made his career as an owner/operator truck driver hauling steel, grain, tomatoes and ironically even oxygen to the V.A. Hospital. He took special pride in keeping his vehicles as clean as possible. In recent years he could be found entertaining his grandchildren in his garage with stories accumulated on the road and in Vietnam while the rock & roll soundtrack of his era played on in the background utilizing a vintage collection of 8 track tapes, cassettes and compact discs.
On October 16, 1971 he married Kristine Werner who survives along with their children: Lori (Ron) Knoche of Valparaiso, Lisa (Glenn) Christy of Valparaiso, Lindsay (Brandon) Huhnke of Wanatah & Brian (Christina) McMahan of Wanatah, siblings: Jimmy (Kathy) McMahan of DeMotte, Susie (Chuck) Mack of Wanatah, Gary (Jansie) McMahan of Goshen & Brenda (Dave) Wolf of Hanna, and grandchildren: Blake, Joseph, Drew, Kyle, Emily, Bentley, Cora & Bryson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 16th from 3 – 6 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel with funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm, Craig Culver officiating with cremation to follow.
