Kent Vaudt

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” ~ Psalm 116:15

On Friday, September 5, 2025, Kent Vaudt was finally able to experience true and everlasting joy as he saw the face of his Blessed Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kent entered this world on October 2, 1950, where he spent 74 years, 11 months, 27 days, and 22 hours. He was a man of unwavering faith, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of his life. Kent found joy in prayer, strength in Scripture, and peace in the promise of eternal life. Through love, kindness and compassion he shared his steadfast faith in Jesus with everyone he met.

While driving a tractor-trailer across the country to deliver a load of corn meal, together Kent and Rosy fell in love with their Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29,1984. They were filled with the Holy Spirit the following day during a Christian revival meeting.

Kent’s desire was for people to be introduced to Jesus – to know Him and to love Him. Kent was passionate about studying the written Word of God and loved sharing the Word with others. He led a men’s Bible study in his home for years and mentored those whom the Holy Spirit brought across his path. Together he and Rosy led prayer ministries and teams in their local churches for years. He lived a life of services to others, and many times was the only Bible people would read.

Kent proudly served this great nation in the Army, as part of the Big Red One Infantry division. He was a hardworking man who provided for his family by farming, driving a semi-truck and working in the steel mills as a heavy equipment mechanic. He had a gift, to use whatever was on hand, to fix just about anything. Following retirement, he enjoyed making things for his grandkids, “tinkering” in the garage, traveling and volunteering with a local ministry.

Those waiting to join him in glory are Rosy (his beloved wife of 50 years), daughter Amber, son Josh (Lindsay) and grandchildren Elijah (Serena), Oliver, Benjamin and Jane, sisters Diane Munch, Angie (Steve) Cook, Michele “Shelly” (Nick) Nicholson, and brother-in-law Wes Householder, along with many other cherished family and friends. Greeting him upon arrival in heaven was his grandson, Jeremiah. While we grieve his passing, we find solace in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in God’s eternal kingdom.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, located at 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46383. A funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm. His body will be laid to rest at a later date with burial at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.

Kent was always fond of saying “love you and bless you” when saying goodbye.  May we ever remember Kent as we say those words to our family and loved ones.

Aunt Rosy and family, I'm so very saddened for your loss. It's trying times when we lose our loved ones. I pray you find comfort in your faith and loving memories of Kent over the years. In my absence I'm sending much much love & many hugs to you all. Blessings, -Robin Stulen

We have been so very blessed by our friendship, fellowship and studies of God’s Word with Kent & Rosy. Kent was always quick to jump into construction projects (Kent’s the guy that could build and fix about anything). Kent loved Christ centered wood-shop innovations as well as playing a competitive game of dominos! But, his main focus was always Jesus. When others discussed theological differences, Kent would say “we need to go back to the Word. What did Jesus say?” The depth of wisdom and knowledge of our Lord from both Kent and Rosy is an amazing testimony of true love of Jesus. We have learned so very much from their walk. Thank you Kent and Rosy. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing Kent in Glory and continue to pray a special portion of grace, comfort and encouragement for Rosy and her precious family. -Keith Heckler and Billie Cano
