Kimberly S. Montell, 73 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026. She was born July 6, 1952, in Chicago, IL, to Shelby and Gloria (Pozniak) Montell. Kim graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She owned and operated Rossi Video with her husband, Tom, for over 30 years in Valparaiso. Kim was a devout Buddhist, and an animal lover, who rescued over 100 animals in her lifetime. She was also very conscientious about her health through exercise and nutrition. Kim completed 6 marathons, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and summitted a wide variety of peaks in France, Mexico, and the United States with her husband. Kim will be remembered as having a crystalline soul and a heart to match. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, though her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the ways she made the world a better place.

On December 21, 2010, in Valparaiso, Kim married the love of her life, Tom Rossi, who survives, along with her parents, Shelby and Gloria Montell of Crystal Lake, IL; stepdaughter, Lisa Rossi of Bloomington, IL; stepson, Nickolas (Laura) Rossi of New York, NY; and siblings: Lisa (Chuck) Hernandez, Tyler Montell, and Shelly Montell, all of Crystal Lake, IL.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations may be made to Vale Park Animal Hospital.
