Lauren Mary McKim, 77 of Olathe, KS, formerly of Kouts, IN, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born May 10, 1948, in Illinois, to the late Lawrence and Joan Peres. Lauren made her career as a Registered Nurse. She began her career with the VNA in Valparaiso, later working with the W.I.C. Office to help families with vaccinations and nutrition, and retiring from HealthLinc, where she championed for childhood wellbeing. In her free time, Lauren enjoyed quilting, reading and watching murder mysteries, and dogs. She especially loved spending time with her beloved family, especially doing crafts with her granddaughter, Emily. Lauren will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
On August 9, 1981, Lauren married James S. McKim, who preceded her in death in 2019. She is survived by their son, Jon (Anne) McKim; granddaughter, Emily; and sister, Laurel (Ed) Rauch.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Kout, IN, with the funeral service beginning at12:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Kouts.
