Lillian Sajdera, 90, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2022. She was born December 29, 1931 to Rampo & Svetanka Pavloff and graduated from Lew Wallace High School. Loving mother raising ten children, Lillian’s greatest joy was her family, hosting holiday events and summer picnics at her lake home, continuing her family legacy with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lillian enjoyed utilizing the Valparaiso Library and reading contentedly. Sewing for her family became an exquisite talent and source of pride.
On October 3, 1953 in Gary, IN she married Ervin M. Sajdera who preceded her in death in 2017. Survivors include their children; Ervin (Sheila) Sajdera of Crown Point, Michael Sajdera of Kouts, Carol Douthitt of Chesterton, Jean (Chuck) Brumley of Florida, Ray (Ginger) Sajdera of Valparaiso, Mary (Duane) Peterson of Chesterton, Susan (John) Greer of Florida, Jennifer Allen of Valparaiso, Edward (Angela) Sajdera of Chesterton, 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Felix Pavloff, sister, Daisy (Bob) Arehart, and many loving nieces, nephews & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Andrew Sajdera, sister, Rose Hilton, daughter-in-law, Laura Sajdera, and son-in-law, Sam Douthitt, Jr.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 – 7 pm at Moeller Funeral Home Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Friends of the Library, Valparaiso.
