Lloyd David Shaw, 66 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born April 9, 1959, in Chicago, IL, to Lloyd and Janie (Reed) Shaw. David graduated from Portage High School, Class of 1977. He made his career as a union painter with the Local 460 District 91. David grew up learning to restore cars and repair auto body work from his stepfather. He enjoyed working on cars, playing the drums, and spending time with his family. David had a very close relationship with his brothers that he cherished. David was a happy guy and with an easy-going personality. He loved to act silly at family events and spread smiles with his infectious laughter. David’s heart was overflowing with joy that he shared with everyone around him. The impact of David’s life will be lovingly remembered for generations to come.

On April 21, 1984, David married Linda Wilson, who survives, along with their son, Sam (Courtney) Shaw; grandchildren: Chloe, Joseph, and Benjamin; brother, Danny Shaw; and nephews: Bobby Shaw and Anthony Shaw. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd “Whitey” Shaw; mother and stepfather, Janie and Walt Chaney; brothers: Glen Shaw and Terry L. Shaw; nephew, Terry L. Shaw II; and niece, Nicole Shaw.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.
