Loretta Lynn Slaten, 75 of Valparaiso, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025. She was born October 17, 1949 in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Walter and Kathryn (Harris) Slaten. Loretta was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines and did clerical work at the Playboy office in Chicago and then locally at State Farm. Church and her religion were near and dear to her heart. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Moreno and sister, Teena (Donald) Slaten-Rupard.
Following cremation, a burial of ashes will be held with Military Honors on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso.
