Marian Annette Massengill, 86 of Wanatah, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024.  She was born April 21, 1937 in Gary, IN to John and Marie (Vass) Pavich.  Marian had worked as an executive secretary for the Brick Layers Union Chicago Local 21, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah, and had served as a Girl Scout Leader.  A certified master gardener through Purdue, she loved spending time tending her flower gardens and cherished time with family.
On July 13, 1955 at St. Anthony’s in Gary, Marian married W. Ken Massengill who preceded her in death in 2016. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Dave Stokoski) Angott, Cindy (Tim) Cummings, Karen (Jerry) Ronco, and Laurie (Gene) Kleist; daughter-in-law, Denise Massengill; grandchildren, Lindsay, Brian, Sheri, Jamie, Janel, Michael, Nicholas, Jacob, Bonnie, Rachel, Kyle, and Ashley; 21 great grandchildren; and brothers, William (Sylvia) Pavich and Robert (Barbara) Pavich.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Daniel Massengill.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9:30-11:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 AM.  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dunes Hospice, Valparaiso or the Alzheimer's Association.
