Marjorie Ann (Schavey) Quick, age 85 of Portage and formerly of Lake Station, passed away peacefully, on May 20, 2024. She was born to Louis and Julia Schavey and was blessed to have six siblings, Loretta (Crofton), Nancy (York), Sandi (Haywood), Louis Schavey, Linda (Sunderland), and Robin (Gilliland). They remained very close to each other, even going on yearly trips.
She was married to David Kenneth Quick from September 17, 1960 -1972. She worked her entire life to support her five children. She put them first, making sure they had everything they needed and more. A lifetime of happy memories was made in the homes she provided.
Marjorie was the mother of Shelly (Keith) Mendenhall, Jean (John) Cook, Joady (Robert) Kerouac, Troy (Maggie) Quick, and Daniel (Andrea) Quick. She was the grandmother to 15 wonderful grandkids and 13 beautiful great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta (Crofton) and Nancy (York), and her parents, Louis & Julia Schavey, and her ex-husband, David Kenneth Quick. She leaves behind a huge family and many friends who loved and adored her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Noon, on June 1, 2024, at the Portage United Pentecostal Church, 2865 Willowdale Rd, Portage, IN. Immediately following the service, the family is invited to the Family Center, located behind the church.
