Mary B. Wright-Daily, 92, of Valparaiso passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026. She was born April 27, 1934, near Hebron, IN to Porter & Lucy (Hahn) Wright.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Daily, daughter, Dawn M. Lowe of Valparaiso, daughter-in-law, Barb DeLahanty of Brownsburg, grandson, Phillip (Savanah Willingham) DeLahanty, great-grandsons, Justin & Julian DeLahanty, nieces: Peg (Mike) Lieber, Pat (Mac) McCleary, Kathryn (John) Grossman & Laurie ((Van) Schwiebert, nephews: David (Kathy) Saylor & Tim (Sanella) Saylor, and several step-children. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve DeLahanty, sisters: Lucille Saylor & Ruth (Chuck) Grossman, brother, Gene (Eileen) Wright, and her first husband, Donald DeLahanty.

Mary was a very caring, loving and compassionate lady who had great empathy for others. She loved creating a warm and welcoming home and appointing it with flowers. Her creative side utilized her talents in many ways, especially when she allowed her fun-loving nature to shine through with her great sense of humor.

Mary had worked at various places in Valparaiso over the years; library assistant while her children were young, nursing assistant for 24 years at the “old” Porter Memorial Hospital, Ann’s Gift Shop in downtown Valparaiso, and her “dream job” at Lamaison. She had many lady friends from school and the places she worked. Her mottos were to have a “friend be a friend” and “a lady always knows when to leave”.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6th from 1 - 3 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm. Cremation will follow the service and a private burial of her urn will take place at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 799 Capitol Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46385.
