Matilda “Tillie” Kardos, 96 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born December 27, 1927, in Gary, IN, to the late Victor and Anna (Dumenic) Rajkovich. Tillie had worked as a ballet dancer and instructor and had her own studio. Later she helped run her husband Bill’s business, “Car and Electronics.” Tillie was always sweet and giving. She enjoyed spending her free time boating, cooking, and gardening. She will be dearly missed.
On June 27, 1955, in Gary, IN, Tillie married William H. Kardos, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2017. She is survived by their children: Bill (Debbie) Kardos, Jr., and Karla (fiancé Dave) Kardos; grandchildren: Kristi (Hector) Soto, Callie (Kyle) Burkholder, Valerie (Chad) Roth, and Victor Tinnish; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
