Melody Leigh Stiak, 69, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away May 6, 2026 in Fishers, Indiana. She was born on October 5, 1956 in Quincy, Massachusetts, the daughter of Carol Lee Dobson and Roy Franklin Laudermilk. Melody retired as a senior merchandise manager from JCPenney, where she worked for 20 years. She had love for the many dogs that she had over the years and cherished time spent with her family.
On September 1, 1979, Melody married John Charles “Rocky” Stiak, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2017. She is survived by her mother, Carol Dobson; children, Jennifer (Spencer) Brooks and Brian Stiak; grandchildren, Benjamin, Everett, and Henry Brooks; sister, Susan (Tom) Schultz; sisters-in-law, Susan Foote and Nancy (Paul) Maggio; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
