Micaela Carmen “Mickey” Arias, 77, of Hobart, Indiana formerly of Indianapolis passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her home. She was born September 14, 1946 in Gary, Indiana to Abraham & Carmen (Reyes) Arias and graduated from Emerson High School in 1964. Mickey began her career with U.S. Steel Garyworks as a clerical secretary and transitioned to Prudential Insurance in Chicago before settling in at Bell Telephone/AT&T for 25 years retiring as a manager of supply bookkeeping. Micaela and her little sister & accomplice in life, Rachel enjoyed a lifetime of companionship and exploits together. They shared a retirement home in Mexico for several years before  Rachel’s death in 2020 when Mickey relocated to Hobart so she could be near her brother, Abraham.  Her quiet and content personality lent itself well to her artistic style painting acrylic lifescenes, particularly relating to the Mexican tranquility and daily life she witnessed while living there.
Survivors include her brother, Abraham A. Arias of Valparaiso, nephew, Austin Abraham Arias & niece, Karla Adriana Arias. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rachel Arias.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory she will be laid to rest with her sister, Rachel in Indianapolis.
