Nancy L. Kleppe, 84 of Valparaiso, IN passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 in Munster, IN. She was born on October 22, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Martin and Claire (Yeager) Petermann. She graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1958 and also was a member of the Northwest Indiana Bible Students. She made her career as the President and CEO of J and N Enterprises and eventually as President Emeritus of Sensit Technologies. During this time, she was lovingly called the “CDO” or Chief Disruption Officer, as well as the “Corporate Mom.” Her and her husband co-founded J and N Enterprises in Valparaiso to which they dedicated their lives to the business. She had a heart for people and always sought to be helpful—to an annoying level at times. You would hear Nancy say “and this too shall pass” and end every single message with “love and hugs.” She loved animals, especially dogs and her lifetime involvement with horses. Nancy was a thoughtful and caring woman who will be dearly missed.
On August 22, 1958 in Wheaton, IL, Nancy married John R. Kleppe, who preceded her in death in 2000. Survivors include her son, J. Scott (Tina) Kleppe; “daughter”, Debbie “sis” Wahl; granddaughter, Margret Kleppe; nephew, Christopher Mitchell; niece, Gloria Poling; great nephew, Joshua Poling; great niece, Christina (Kevin) Holt; great-great niece, Carrie Holt; dear friends, Judy Markle and Connie Clinton; and horse children, Dolly and Patty. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Mitchell; sister-in-law, Maryanne Mitchell; and nephew, Jeffrey Mitchell.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a service beginning at 6:00 PM. Private interment to take place at Graceland Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the Northwest Indiana Bible Students or Fried's Cat Shelter Building Fund.
