Nancy L. Miller, 88 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  She was born August 8, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan to the late James and Florence (Spear) Burke.  After raising her four children and getting them off to school, Nancy worked for Merrillville Schools from 1969-1993, working at John Wood Elementary and retiring from the High School.  She was a member of  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and family was the most important part of her life.
On June 19, 1954, Nancy married John M. Miller who survives along with their children, Linda (Mike) Schieb, Michael Miller, Denise Miller, and Annette (Mark) Ritzi; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and her brother, Bill Burke.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 509 W. Division Rd., Valparaiso, with a burial of ashes at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the VNA Hospice Center of NWI.

Condolences to family of John and Nancy. I just found out.I am still in shock. Nancy and I were friends for years. Went to same school and were in a bunco club with other classmates for over 20 years. Talked to John on Nancy's Birthday in 2023.
