Nancy L. Rosenbaum, 85 of LaCrosse, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born on January 30, 1937 in Michigan City to the late John and Ina (Veden) Tofte. She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1955. She was a proud homemaker and farm wife and made her career as a legal secretary for Westville Correctional Facility and a paralegal secretary for several Valparaiso area attorney offices. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wanatah and was a part of the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a former member of the Wanatah School Advisory Board.
Nancy was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. She was known to be a hard worker both at work and at home. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and there was no stopping her when she had her work gloves on and rake in hand. Nancy's children and grandchildren can attest to her never doing anything small-- every holiday was a large spectacle for the family to enjoy. She was an avid collector of many items, especially flow blue dishware. She loved going for drives with her dear husband to see the sandhill cranes and enjoy nature and make their rounds between their three children's houses. She was the best cheerleader for all her grandchildren in anything they would do, including countless sports and 4-H shows. She was fond of sharing her favorite treat with her grandchildren, which was a seemingly endless supply of ice cream, no matter the time of day. Nancy had a loving heart and will live on in the memories of all those fortunate enough to have known her. She is now in the arms of Jesus and free from any ailments inflicted to her here on earth.
On August 18, 1962, Nancy married Arnold L. Rosenbaum, who survives, along with their children: Michelle (Joseph) Dyjak, Renee (Joseph) Rudolph, and Todd (Tricia) Rosenbaum; grandchildren: Jason (Steph Vance) Dyjak, Justin Dyjak, Jennifer (Brett) Huhnke, Jared (Kelsey Younce) Dyjak, Melissa and Katelyn Rudolph, Alexandria Bucher, Jillian (Seth) Garrison, Jonathan Rosenbaum; great-grandchildren: Katie and Samantha Vance, Drake and Dax Huhnke, Laken Blasko, Bane Bucher, and Adilynn and Ireland Garrison; sister, Linda Rhed; sister-in-law, Linda Tofte, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Dawn Yagelski and John Tofte.
A visitation will be held on Sunday October 9, 2022 from 1 – 4 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main Street. A service will be held on Monday October 10, 2022 at 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 15496 South 900 West, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will immediately follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wanatah.
