Neil E. Stauffer, 76 of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born February 21, 1948 in Somerset, Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene and Maxine (Farling) Stauffer. Neil made his career as an electrician, working for 52 years at Bethlehem Steel/Cleveland Cliffs. He was a devoted husband, amazing uncle, and loving brother. Along with his wife, Rebecca, Neil rescued and cared for many animals over the years. A huge car buff, he spent numerous hours cleaning and detailing his vehicles. Neil enjoyed photography, videography, and electronics and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
On September 24, 1988, Neil married Rebecca O’Connor who survives along with his sister, Nancy (Len) Sproat; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved cat, Caster.
In accordance with Neil’s wishes, cremation will take place with no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Hobart Humane Society.
