Paul Frank Homan, 83, of Union Mills passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was born July 24, 1941, in Michigan City to Lawrence & Hilda (Ruetz) Homan. Paul was proud to have been a farmer for his entire lifetime in LaPorte County with his brother Bob on their own land and had worked at Wanatah Mercantile for over 40 years before retiring. Paul enjoyed his longtime membership at Salem Church in Wanatah and creating beautiful wood crafts and other wonderful things in his spare time.

On October 26, 1963, he married Carolyn Engel at Salem United Church of Christ in Wanatah and she survives along with their children: Charles Homan & Cathleen Homan, grandchildren: Christine Homan (Tad Hammock), Robert Homan (Danny Adams) & Kyle Homan (Jess Homan), great-grandchildren: Liam Hammock, Piper Hammock, Kadence Kough & Aiden Kough, sisters-in-law: Cheryl (Reg) Krueger and Clytis Engel, four nephews, one niece and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Patricia Homan, brothers, Robert & William Homan, and brother-in-law, David Engel.

A visitation will be held Sunday, April 6th from 1 – 3 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held Monday, 11:00 am at Salem Church, Pastor Melissa McGough officiating with burial to follow at Salem Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
