Paul Gene Ling Sr., 83, of Chesterton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 2, 1938, in Valparaiso to William and Leona (Prochno) Ling. Paul attended Boone Grove schools, and made his career as a Welder with Westinghouse/Siemens in Hobart for over 20 years. Paul enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing card games, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as having a good sense of humor and a smile on his face always. Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Paul is survived by his children: Teresa Danskin of Chesterton, Paul Ling Jr. of Chicago, and Ricky (Kim) Ling of Porter; grandchildren: Andrew (Carissa) Underwood, Candace Arvin, Sarah (Mark) Ling, Madison Ling, and Sommer Topolski; great-grandchildren: Dante and Dakota Arvin, Ogden and Brieanna Underwood; brothers: Tom Ling and Larry Ling; and sisters: Nancy Jarnecke, Sue Coberly, and Kathy Howe.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years and childhood sweetheart, Lilah Louise (Wilson) Ling; his parents, William and Leona Ling; siblings: William “Dean” Ling, Pat Locke, Kay Monroe, and Dave Ling.
A Celebration of Life will be on December 3, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm at AJ’s Pizza 3050 Matson Dr, Chesterton, IN 46304 .
