Paul Joseph Tumo, 71, of Wanatah passed away peacefully at home with his family on Sunday, October 15, 2023. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Paul Dennis & Christine (Kreiter) Tumo, graduated from Portage High School, attended Purdue University Calumet, and served with the Indiana Army National Guard. Paul made his career for over 50 years with the municipal water departments in Valparaiso and Whiting. His life was defined by his dedication to his work and his family. As a jack of all trades, Paul was not just a tinkerer but an accomplished mechanic with an affinity for all things to do with trains.
He married Peggy who survives along with four children and four grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and remembered while we wait to be reunited again.
A memorial gathering to recognize and celebrate Paul’s life will be announced at a later date.
