Ranita “Sue” Sedgley, 84 of Chesterton, IN, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born July 25, 1941, in Valparaiso, IN, to the late Clarence Henderson Spratley and Margaret Spratley. Sue proudly made her career in the quality control division of McGill Manufacturing in Valparaiso for 25 years.
Spending time with her friends in the Duneland Senior Club of Chesterton brought Sue immense happiness. She also enjoyed baking and quilting when she was able. Sue always looked forward to holidays with her family and the wonderful memories they created together. She held onto the importance of traditional values throughout her life. Sue will be remembered for her quick wit and ability to make others laugh. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Robey; grandchildren: Ty (Danielle) Robey, and Amanda (Tim) Miller; step-grandson, Michael (Amanda) Wolfe; great-grandchildren: Benjamin Robey, Charlotte and Jesse Miller; and step-great-grandchildren: Brantley and Lola Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sedgley; son, Donald Robey; parents, and 10 Siblings.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Erik Bernth officiating. Sue will be privately laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery, Kouts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sue’s name to VNA Hospice NWI.
