Reda F. Adam, 77 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1947 in Laclede County, Missouri, the daughter of John “Bill” and Rayma M. (Devore) Rogers. Faith, friends, and family were most important to Reda. She attended the Assembly of God Church and then raised her family at St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a founding parent of Tiny Tim’s Preschool. Most recently Reda attended Heartland Christian Center and enjoyed bible studies at Washington Evangelical Free Church. Reda worked in food service for many years; most would remember her at the Coffee Shop in Porter Memorial Hospital or Wendy’s on Calumet Ave. She enjoyed traveling, during which she loved stopping to take in historical locations, and winters spent in Las Vegas with her husband, Ron. Reda was a voice of reason for Ron, which may have come from her strong-willed personality, and don’t forget her quick wit. She had many valued friendships, several of them coming from her trips to the casinos. Most of all, her devotion to God and her family will be missed and cherished forever.
On February 4, 1968, Reda married Ronald Adam who survives along with their daughters, Stacy (Michael) DeVoid and Angela (Jim) Welch, and her granddaughter, Madison DeVoid. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Rue.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. In memory of Reda, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
GUESTBOOK
Stacey, Ron and Angie, I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you at this sad time. I first met Reda back in 1979 when Stacey and I were in kindergarten, and from the very beginning she was so kind and funny. I’ll always remember her beautiful smile, her laugh that could fill a room, and how much she loved to chat and maybe gossip a little too! She was always good to me -like giving me rides to CCD-and I’ll never forget the way she adored her family and kept Ron in line with that spark in her eye. Reda will be missed but I hope it brings you comfort to know that she is at peace. Sending tons of hugs and prayers! -Elaine Henderson
To Ron, Stacy, Angela and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I am thankful I got to visit with Ron and Reda before her passing. She was a special lady who will be missed. The heavens received another angle on Monday. With my deepest sympathy, -Terry Mcintosh
You were always such a great friend to me throughout the years. I will miss that friendship but will always have you and our memories forever in my heart. -Pam Fleming
I always enjoyed spending time with Reda. We talked family, faith, football (she loved the Colts!) and many other things. Playing bingo with Reda was the best! Reda brought laughter to my wife Lisa, and joy to my daughter Emma, looking after her at times as if Emma was her own granddaughter. Auntie Reda, as we would call her, was so full of wit, wisdom, life, and love. We long to see her again-but for now will have to wait with her precious memory ever present in our hearts. Reda will be missed tremendously! Our love and prayers are for Ron, Stacy, Angela, and Madison. We love you guys! -Tim Carroll
