Robert B. Djurich, 76, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was born July 7, 1947, in Germany to Velibor & Katherine (Spacapan) Djurich, graduated from Lew Wallace High School, and served proudly with the U.S. Army in Germany. Robert made his career at Inland Steel’s Central Mechanical Maintenance Department for 33 years. He enjoyed membership at American Legion Post #94 in Valparaiso and the NRA. His Serbian heritage, military service, dedication to his career, and love for his wife & family defined him along with his impetuous smile.
On February 22, 1969, he married Patti Tokarski who survives along with their daughters; Carrie (David) Farley of Hobart & Shelley Razus of Wauwatosa, WI, brothers; David & Steven (Janelle) Stefanovich both of Arizona, grandchildren: Heather, Noelle, Michael & Mia, and great-grandchildren: Gavin, Kylie & Laila. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Victoria Zoric.
A visitation will be held Monday from 3 - 7 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.

My sincerest condolences go out to my Mother. I spent the last few months hearing stories from my Dad about their love story and it was really beautiful seeing it through his eyes. I’m more than honored to be able to come home and take care of him and see all the love so many people had for him. The stories I heard this past week were so heart felt and i learned so much more about the man my Father was. He will truly be missed by so many. This family has been through a lot watching Uncle Bob fight this horrible disease. But being the patriot that he has been his whole life, it’s not surprising to see how long he was able to fight this horrible disease. My families heart breaks knowing that Aunt Pat’s love of her life is gone now, but we have such beautiful memories and plan to have many more with Aunt Pat and the The rest of our family.. May God bless us all and keep us strong for each other. Remember, that we will always love you, and will always always be there for you. We love you always and we will see you soon enough Uncle Bob. The sorrow we feel for you is so hard to express. I understand what you all have lost. The strength he had for his family and his spouse seems to have stopped... It hasn't, but it seems that way now. In the future, you will feel that strength when you need it. It will come when you need it the most. Bob was so sweet and dear to us all. He will be missed... Just know someday you will reunite.
