Robert W. Griesmer, 81 of Kouts, IN, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was born December 11, 1944, in Jacksonville, NC on the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to Robert E. and V. Pauline (Chapman) Griesmer. Bob proudly served in the United State Marine Corps, before making his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Local 150 Operating Engineers. In his free time, he enjoyed studying history, and woodworking. Bob created beautiful pieces through his woodworking and especially liked making grandfather clocks. He will be remembered for his happy disposition and how very loved he was by his kids. Bob will be dearly missed.
On August 28, 1994, Bob married Jo Sanders, who survives, along with children: Timothy (Teri) Griesmer, Theresa (Jody) Buckley, and Jessica (Brandon Scott) Dickinson; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters: Beverly, Cathy, and Floy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Griesmer and Vercie Pauline (Chapman) Griesmer, and brother, Gerry Griesmer.
To honor Bob’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
