Roger A. Hutton, 84, of Wanatah passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his Sun City West, Arizona residence. He was born October 14, 1940, to Ernest W, & Doris I. (Koontz) Hutton and graduated from Wanatah High School in 1958. Roger began his career farming in rural Wanatah and transitioned a few years later to begin working his way upward with his father and brother at Wanatah Stone & Trucking where he became Vice-President of Traffic & Sales until his retirement. He and his wife, Janet, became owners and managers of a retirement community in Florida until the mid-1990’s. Roger was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Wanatah Lions Club, and Cass-Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. He was a very knowledgeable and studious man, which contributed to the family’s success in the years that they raised, trained and showed Quarter Horses and Arabians. His years of avid golfing brought enjoyment along with some frustration but allowed him to relax while watching the game on television in his later years.

On March 21, 1959, her married Janet Hundt who preceded him in death in 2008. Survivors include their son, Joe Hutton of Wanatah along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jack Hutton in 2022 and his brother, Jim Hutton.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 16th at Wanatah Funeral Chapel from 3 – 7 pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17th at Salem U.C.C., Wanatah beginning at 11:00 am, Rev. Melissa McGough officiating, with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Salem Church, Wanatah Lions Club, Cass-Clinton Fire Dept. or Morgan Township Fire Dept.
