Roger Williams Winsor, 84, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday November 13, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on November 20, 1940 in Seattle, Washington. He was a ministers’ son and as such, Roger moved around to different areas of the United States, ending up in Illinois where he met the love of his life, Diane, at Morton College while studying radio broadcasting. They were married August 11, 1962, and relocated to Northwest Indiana to pursue his broadcasting career at WNWI as “Rockin Roger”. After a long career in sales, Roger retired in 2006 from Schwann’s Enterprises. He had a great love for music, singing, and dancing. He was an avid astronomer and a dedicated train enthusiast. He spent many hours photographing train engines and cabooses. He adored his family, enjoyed family gatherings, and visiting with friends.

Roger had a strong faith and love of Christ. He believed all things came through Christ the Lord. He was a long time member of the Ogden Dunes Community Church and sang with the Chancel Choir. He assisted with fulfilling positions as needed for church services and events. Roger also enjoyed his time at the Bonner Center and performed with the Bonner Choraleers. Roger was always thankful for another day, and expressed a positive, happy demeanor to others.

Roger is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Kern, his children: Lori Taddei, Sheri Winsor, Teri (John) Coros, Christine (Craig) Rhodes, Nathan (Samantha) Winsor; his grandchildren: Aaron Caylor, Jessica (Derek) Costa, Angela (Rodney)Staton, , Nicholas (Elena)Taddei, Sean (Brittany)Taddei, Nick Coros (Jessi), Robert Ashby (Hayley), Trenton (Madelyn) Rhodes, Carson (Hannah) Rhodes, Blake Winsor, Brentt Winsor, and Brayden Winsor; and his great grandchildren: Mya, Cayden, Sofia, Olivia, Elaina, Amelia, Kamden, Kaysen, Quinn, Miller, Giovanni, Addison, and Isla. Roger is preceded in death by his wife: Diane, his parents: Gordon and Ethel, brother: Charles, and grandson: Christopher Halstead

Following a cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a family memorial will be held at Ogden Dunes Community Church November 20, 2025.
