Ronald A. Tolnay, 59 of Westville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  He was born March 8, 1964 in Chicago, IL, the son of Bill and Merle (Mersch) Tolnay.  Ron was currently working at the Westville Correctional Facility as a welding foreman.  An avid sports fan, he cheered on the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, and was a huge NASCAR fan, following his favorite driver, Chase Elliott.  Ron not only was a racing fan but was in the local action as a gas man for Scotty Gardner.  Above all else, he loved to spend time with his friends and family, Ron will be greatly missed by all who he touched.
Ron is survived by his children, Toby Tolnay, Brianna (Charles) Tolnay, Nathan Tolnay, Evan (Rikki) Tolnay, and Emma Tolnay; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Tammy (Paul) Sink, Sherry (Ken “Kippy”) Sink, Sandra (Chris) Adams, and John (Debby) Tolnay; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Tolnay.
A Memorial Gathering will be held March 13, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
