Ruby D. “Mickey” LeRose, 92 of Portage, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025. She was born February 24, 1933 in Paris, Arkansas, to the late William Robert and Edna (Pendergrass) Spicer. Mickey enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and was an avid crocheter. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who gave her heart and soul to caring for her family. Mickey will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
On May 20, 1950, Mickey married Frank V. LeRose who preceded her in death in 1982. She is survived by her son, Frank R. (Ava) LeRose; grandchildren, Tina (Christopher) Shoppa and William (Erica) LeRose; great grandchildren, Bailey (fiancée Hannah) Shoppa, Reece Shoppa, Bryce (fiancée Kelsey) LeRose, and Jenna (fiancée Matt) LeRose; and sister-in-law, Sandy LeRose. Mickey was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Rotert.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Memorial Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial of ashes will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, of the VNA Hospice of NWI.
