Sarah Elizabeth Gudeman, 24 of Kouts, passed away suddenly as a result of a motorcycle accident, on Friday, June 27, 2025.  She was born February 14, 2001 in South Bend, Indiana the daughter of Jeffrey and Courtney (Novak) Hyska.  A 2019 graduate of Michigan City High School, Sarah went on in her studies to graduate in 2024 from Purdue Northwest with a nursing degree.  She was currently working in the Emergency Department at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart and attended the Apostolic Christian Church of LaCrosse.  Her strong and determined personality helped direct her path in life.  In high school, Sarah was a decorated swimmer, setting three records and earning a swimming scholarship.  She had a passion for anything that was fast and had wheels, whether it was a motorcycle, four-wheeler, or even a Rzr.  Sarah enjoyed hunting with her dad, gardening, loved animals, and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.

On August 17, 2024, Sarah married Kendon Gudeman who survives along with her parents, Jeff and Courtney Hyska; brothers, Ethan and Jeremiah Hyska; grandmother, Brenda Novak; great aunt, Helen Semala; father and mother-in-law, Owen and Nicole Gudeman; sisters-in-law, Jaela and Jesslyn Gudeman; brother-in-law; Kyler (Madison) Gudeman; grandparents-in-law, Mary Gudeman and Kenneth and Ellen Dahlhauser; and many loving extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dale Novak and grandfather-in-law, Donald Gudeman.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church of LaCrosse, 508 Mill Street, LaCrosse, IN 46348 with burial to follow at the LaCrosse Apostolic Christian Cemetery.  The Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Kosanke Funeral Home 309 S. Main Street, Kouts and Monday at church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Saving Grace Animal Rescue and Sanctuary or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
