Scott E. Clemens, 80, of Valparaiso, IN formerly of Kewanee, IL passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born December 20, 1942 in Moline, IL to Marion E. & Marjorie J. (Mason) Clemens, graduated from Moline High School in 1960, received a B.A. from Milliken University in 1965, and his J.D. from Drake University School of Law in 1973. Scott practiced law in Henry County, Illinois for 45 years, as a partner of Brown & Clemens, and as Assistant Public Defender, retiring in 2018. As an active member of the Kewanee community, he had served as president of the Henry County Bar Association, leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Salvation Army Board of Directors and member of the Kiwanis, and Rotary Clubs. Everywhere he went he took on leadership roles that positively effected each organization involved.
On August 29, 1970, he married Katherine Stickles who survives along with their son, Matthew (Allison) Clemens of Valparaiso, and grandsons, Paxton & Archer Clemens. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 25th from 1 – 3 pm, CDT, at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with memorial service beginning at 3:00 pm and burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.  Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
