Tanya Marie Parker, 56 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022. She was born October 25, 1966, in Rome, GA to Donald Edwin Hasse and Peggy Jo (Koch) Hasse. Tanya graduated from Valparaiso University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso, and looked forward to participating in and leading The Great Banquet every year. Tanya enjoyed reading, learning about history, and as a child, was very captivated by horses. Above all, Tanya loved her family, especially her children. She was a devoted mother who showed kindness to everyone she met. Tanya will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to know her.
Tanya is survived by her husband, Jonathan Parker of Valparaiso; children: Simon Cole, Marlie Cole, and Miralise Parker, all of Valparaiso; parents: Donald and Peggy Hasse of Sheboygan Falls, WI; sister, Tamara Hinrichs of Chesterfield, MO; twin sister, Terri (Charles Coutts) Hasse of Sheboygan, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Miles Edwin Parker; and brother-in-law, Paul Hinrichs.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 3401 N. Valparaiso St., Valparaiso, with a celebration of life service beginning at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tanya’s name to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
